Don't be the sidekick of your Story!

God doesn’t want to see you settling being a sidekick in your story. He wants to see you winning and loving life. He didn’t create you to just sit on your rump. He wants you to reach out to your neighbors and love your friends and family. He wants to see your life in action.
I’m reminded of Esther. She thought she was a sidekick of her own story. I mean she couldn’t even talk to her husband unless he requested her. God knew her story was way bigger than that. God gave her a voice and the confidence to risk her life to use it miraculously. When she realized what her purpose was, she immediately told her uncle to have the people fast and pray for her. She knew she couldn’t do it alone. She needed a lot of prayer over her. Just like us! We need our people! When we are going through horrible things like a scary doctor's visit, losing jobs, relationships falling apart, or just the everyday struggles that have us exhausted with worry, we need our people to pray for us. We need them to have our backs when we feel like we are falling apart. We need them to lift us up. There is so much power in prayer, and I can honestly say that. I believe it!! PRAYER is the number one way to reach God. It is so powerful! When you are down on your knees that is where you will find God. As I’m writing this, I’m praying that God will give me the words that you need to hear. Right now, you need to hear this… GOD IS FOR YOU!! He wants you to reach out and talk to him. He wants your story to be filled with HIM. He wants to show you what he can do. My God is kind of a showoff and loves you so much.
He wants to see you succeed in this life he gave you. That doesn't mean making millions of dollars, he wants to see you succeed in the everyday little stuff like wiping your child’s butt, doing the dishes, and picking up the millionth Lego off the floor. He wants to see you say hi to your neighbor and show love to the coworker who drives you crazy. He wants to see you follow your dreams because he placed those dreams in your heart. He knows deep down what you want, and he wants nothing more than to see you follow those dreams and put them into action. Just like Esther, she could have been so scared that she remained quiet, but she knew she couldn’t do that and let her people die. She knew she had to believe in a God who placed this scary job on her heart, that he would come through for her. He would follow her into that room and give her the courage to say the right words. He used her voice and strength to save lives.
Sometimes our weaknesses will be our strength. God might be using your weakness today to show you how strong he is! My weakness is putting myself on display for the world to see, but for some reason, God keeps telling my heart to write so I’m following through and seeing where it leads. I’m done playing the sidekick and I’m going to let God lead my story!
Always Smile,
Michelle

This is exactly what I needed to hear today! I had a therapist once tell me that I reminded him of Esther. I didn't truly realize the extent of that comparison until you just pointed it out. I am not normally the sidekick in my own story but more the leader, controller. That is where I need to let go and let God!
