Dream like a kid again!

Take a moment, close your eyes.

Go back to that moment in your life when you were carefree and had no responsibilities. Go back to a time when you dreamed like a kid. What was that dream?

I know for me it was dreaming about marrying my prince charming and being a mom. When I was playing barbies that is where I would go in my imagination. As Barbie got into her hot pink convertible heading off to meet Ken at the pool where they swim and talk to each other. Then five minutes they were in their wedding outfits getting married. I loved this world where anything could happen. I could create my own drama and where everyone lived happily ever after. I started to live in this world. This world of imagination where anything can happen. I wish I knew then that God gave me this imagination for a reason. He wanted me to use it.

I think somewhere in all of us is this childlike dream that is waiting to be called out. He remembers our childhood passions and dreams because he was the one who put them inside of us. What would it look like if we took those dreams and made them a reality? We know deep down that we need to follow our dreams, but we get so stuck in our heads and thinking to much. We need to have more faith, don't we? I know I do. I struggle in this area all the time. Really believing that God called me for something! Anything! I know I need to wake up every morning trusting and believing in this faith, but like most of us I get stuck in my own head. I need to stop thinking and just do it!

So that's what I did. I started a bible/book club because I know that God called me to this because since I put it out there I feel this freedom. I know it is something so many of us are looking for because I was looking for it. I love reading and talking about books gives me joy! This dream did not happen overnight. I've always felt the call to start something and it took twenty years to get the confidence to start this group. God really will get us to the our destinations if we keep praying and keep going! It's when we stop that we don't get anywhere. We need to step out and start doing!

We will be meeting at the end of the month to discuss our book we are reading and of course there will be wine, coffee and snacks! :) The book we are currently reading is The Astronaut's Wife, by Stacey Morgan. I'm am totally geeking out on it because I love astronomy! Her story telling has grabbed me from the beginning and I finished it within five days. So good and can't wait to discuss it!! So many great insights! If you have ideas for books to recommend I would love that because there are so many books to choose from.
