Fight to the Finish

Ephesians 6:13-18 (The Message)

Be prepared. You're up against far more than you can handle on your own. Take all the help you can get, every weapon God has issued, so that when it's all over but the shouting you'll still be on your feet. Truth, righteousness, peace, faith, and salvation are more than words. Learn how to apply them. You'll need them throughout your life. God's Word is an indispensable weapon. In the same way, prayer is essential in this ongoing warfare. PRAY HARD AND LONG. Pray for your brothers and sisters. Keep your eyes open. Keep each other's spirits up so that no one falls behind or drops out.

Our minds are a battlefield. We need to be prepared. Life is going to throw us so many crazy obstacles and paths we never thought we would be on. We need to be prepared for those new paths. God teaches us how to be prepared. Get your head in his word. His word is filled with all the answers. Yes, it sometimes is hard to find them, but they are in there! I know when I'm in his word, my mind isn't as foggy and I am happier. I know when I start my day in his truth it helps me to fight the lies rolling around in my head.

We also need to never let our praying knees get lazy (Love Like Crazy lyrics by Lee Brice). We need to be talking to Jesus every single day! Laugh with him. Yell at him. Our Jesus is not small... He can handle anything you throw at him. He loves us so much that he wants us to talk to him every single day. HE WANTS TO HEAR FROM YOU!!!

When we pray and are reading His Word we will hear him louder!

When you are not reading, praying, and talking to him that's when the lies come in. That's when we start to believe them. I know this first handed because I struggle with this all the time. None of us are perfect and I'm so glad we have a Jesus who knows that and loves so much He fights for us every day. I was stretching while reading the words above today and it got me on fire! I love reading his words at just the right moment! We are all chosen and loved. He chose us! He loves us!! He fights for us! If that doesn't get a smile on your face I don't know what will.

Trust - oh man that's hard! To put our complete trust into a God we cannot see. Trust and Faith is hard sometimes isn't it? To have faith and trust is what holds all of us together. Without these two things, oh man I don't even want to know. It's so hard sometimes, but I am so glad that I can place my trust in him. If I didn't have trust and faith in him I'd be scared at what I would put my trust in. When our kids get sick or we get that bad news it's encouraging to know that we have a God we can place our trust in and know he's got our back. I know when my husband gets sick which is fairly often I know God is watching over him. It give me peace to know that when I'm helping him feel better that God is bigger than me and is watching over him. Same goes when Grayson was born early. I had so much peace knowing He was in control. Not me! Thank God. I was a hot mess! Jesus is amazing and how he works in our lives is fun and sometimes hard to watch, but knowing His plan is perfect makes it all worth it.

Let's be joyful knowing today we have a God who loves us through all our crazy!
